AAI National Road Relay Champs, 17-Apr-2016, Raheny

The St. Finbarr’s A.C. Relay team of Michael Murphy, Cathal O’Connell and Ken Devine, took the M50 Silver medals at the Athletics Ireland National Road Relay Champs held in Raheny on Sunday, April 12th last. The BARRS trio posted an aggregate time of 20:55 to finish 30 seconds behind hosts Raheny Shamrocks. Michael Murphy ran the first mile in 5:23, the third fastest first leg. Cathal O’Connell ran the two-mile second leg in 10:25, the second fastest two-miler. However Raheny’s Mick Traynor, running a superb 10:14, did the damage, giving Raheny a 22 second margin at the changeover. Finally, Ken Devine ran the anchor mile in 5:07 for an aggregate time of 20:55, to Raheny’s 20:25. Well done the BARRS!
