Training

St Finbarr’s AC is always open to new members and is well known to be a friendly, inviting and inclusive club. Runners of all levels are welcome to join the club.

You can try out the club for a session or two at one of our weekly training sessions listed below.

Training Sessions

  • Monday Road/XC Session 18.15 – meet at the top of the Mardyke Lane
  • Wednesdays at 18:00 – Mardyke Track
  • Fridays at 18:00 – Mardyke Track

Monday Night Road/XC Session 18:15


Meet at the top of the Mardyke Lane at 18.15, 2 miles warm up, hills in a new location, 2 mile warm down. 

Please  ensure you have a proper hi viz bib or vest with proper reflective strips.

Assemble at the top (West) end of Mardyke Walk. For location information, paste coordinates;51.893954N, 8.502560W into your Google Maps search box and hit enter.

Members assemble at the barrier just before 18:15,to conduct warm-up exercises. Session starts 18:15.

Wednesdays 18:00 Mardyke Track

UCC Mardyke Track: interval and speed work session with Eamonn McEvoy and Marion Lyons.

Fridays 18:00 Mardyke Track

UCC Mardyke Track: tempo sessions with Eamonn McEvoy.

COVID-19 Protocols

St. Finbarr’s A.C. is following and implementing COVID-19 safety guidelines set by Sports Ireland, Athletics Ireland and the Irish Health Service Executive.

All members should read the Safe Return to Club Activities protocols before resuming sessions and fill out the Health Screening Form on the day of each training session they attend.
