When registering and becoming a member of St. Finbarr’s A.C. through the Athletics Ireland Online Portal, you will be required to accept the club’s Code of Conduct as the final step in the registration process.
The Code of Conduct applies to all interactions, including in-person activities and digital communication (e.g., email, WhatsApp groups, and social media). WhatsApp groups should be used solely for relevant club matters, such as organizing teams, training information, race results, and club updates.
We kindly ask all members to follow the Code of Conduct when communicating in-person and while posting or commenting in online groups to maintain a respectful and supportive environment.
Code of Conduct
All Club members shall adopt the code of conduct as the basic level of agreement between the club and the participants, the coaches, officials, supporters and others who may be involved in the sport.
Appropriate behaviour is expected of all members at all times.
The types of behaviour that are strictly forbidden at all times during training, competition or any time while an athlete is in the Club are as follows:
• Bullying and aggressive behaviour
• Temperamental and unpredictable behaviour
• Physical and mental abuse
• Use of foul or inappropriate language
• Use of any performance enhancing drug or substance
Club members should report breaches of the code of conduct to the Club committee. Any breaches of the above-mentioned points within the code of conduct will be investigated by the Club Committee. Disciplinary proceedings in respect of a breach of the code of conduct will be discussed and decided on by the Club Committee.
All Club Officers and Committee members may have a role in relation to matters of a strictly personal and confidential nature. Officers and Committee members in receipt of such information shall exercise maximum discretion while complying with any applicable law.
